If you can make the drive, I highly recommend this place. Lots to explore. I which we would have had more time.

We camped here for two nights in the Sablon camp ground. This campground has no water or bathroom facilities (just outhouses). We chose it as we were warned the others campgrounds had very clustered, non private sites. We were very pleased with the campground we chose.

We hike "la traverse". It is a short 3km trail with a nice suspended bridge. Even thought it is short, there is lots to see on the trail. Keep an eye out for the beautiful gorges and rock formations towards the end!

We also visited the beach at one of the other campgrounds. For about an hour, we had the beach to ourselves too! very quiet. Even as people started to show up, there was plenty of room for everyone. The water is COLD! But hey, it's Abititbi. Sand toys are provided for the kids and there is a cute playground.

Best National park I've been so far. The canoeing on the lake was great next time we will do canoe camping.

For the first night, we had the campground entirely to ourselves! No other sites were reserved. The outhouses were very clean and well maintained. There was a lake nearby great for watching wildlife. On the second night, another site was reserved, but the sites are well enough spaced that we had our privacy. Wood is provided.
